Teachers' Information Processing: Effect of Information about Pupils on Teachers' Expectations and Affect

Abstract

The present study investigated how elementary teachers (18 men and 25 women) react on the basis of information available about a pupil. Information in the form of attributions affects teachers' expectations and feelings of satisfaction. Sex differences in teachers' reactions and differential responses to sex of the pupil were observed.
