The Profile of Mood States was given to heroin addicts (60 black males, 60 white males, 60 black females, 60 white females) seeking methadone maintenance, and the addicts' biorhythms were calculated for the test dates. Of 18 comparisons for high or low phases of physical, emotional, and intellectual cycles, the three significant differences were attributed to chance.
