Forbes and Lebo (1977) reported the incidence of arrests for various crimes as a function of lunar phase. Reanalysis showed the largest deviation of observed from expected frequency occurred in the first quarter for total arrests but in the third quarter for crimes against people. Neither was predicted and neither demonstrates lunar phases influence behavior.
