49 pairs of MZ twins and 52 pairs of DZ twins rated a series of 48 cartoons classified as nonsense, satire, aggression, and sex. Analysis of variance and comparison of intra-class correlations yielded some indication of a genetic effect on reactions to aggressive humor, but the family environment appeared to be more important as a determinant of individual differences in appreciation of nonsense, satire, and sexual humor.
