Abstract
Perceptions of study habits and attitudes were analyzed for sex and internally and externally oriented groups comprising 239 subjects enrolled in undergraduate psychology classes. The scores on the Rotter I-E Scale were used to identify the internally and externally oriented subjects. The Brown and Holtzman Survey of Study Habits and Attitudes inventory, administered at three different times during the semester to detect possible variations among the groups over time, yields four primary scale and two subscale scores, and a total score. Trend analyses showed significant differences among the groups on all scale scores and trials on three scales, displaying downward trend effects.
