Abstract
76 beginning graduate students in a proseminar on abnormal behavior read five books from a list of 31 chosen as “softer” but supplemental. Prior to the section, each student was asked to mark those of the 31 he had already read. A list of the most popular 15 titles was drawn up based on the prior readership and reading during the course.
