The relationship between the concept of locus of control (Rotter, 1966) and irrational beliefs (Ellis, 1962) was examined through a correlational study with subjects scoring at the extreme “internal” and “external” poles of the James (1957) I-E scale, and scores on two measures of irrational beliefs. Moderately strong rs between these personality variables were obtained.
