Abstract
This study assessed the effect of the testing situation on scores on a creativity test. 60 fifth and sixth graders were randomly assigned to high- and low-stress and control groups. The results indicated a curvilinear relationship among creativity scores which was a result of the situational stress. Thus, too little or too much stress in such a situation could depress a score, while a moderate amount of stress might be beneficial.
