Members of a Graduate Faculty with high and low publication rates (ns = 95) described themselves in terms of a list of 33 adjectives to determine possible differences in their self-perceptions. Seven adjectives discriminated at significant levels between the two groups. The group with a high rate described themselves as more efficient, excitable and original, while those with a low rate chose adjectives indicating more humorous, friendly, dignified and mischievous.
