A 20-item semantic differential describing sexual behavior and attitudes toward parents was completed by 320 women in a school of nursing and categorized as promiscuous or not. Data showed a strong relation between the rated fathers' behavior and subsequent behavior of daughters. Disruption of the relationship was associated with promiscuity.
