An attempt to differentiate 46 suicidal psychiatric patients from 46 non-suicidal psychiatric patients, all of whom were hospitalized, yielded good rater reliability. However, only two of the several measures differentiated these groups and might be explored further to ascertain how impulse control might best be assessed with the Bender.
