Much conjecture exists about the relationship between punishment, frustration and learning. This study attempted to clarify the relationship between types of punishment and frustration. Because the findings are serendipitous, systematic exploration of the three variables could not be attempted. However, the results can be useful in interpretation of sometimes confusing results in experiments on learning.
