The 200 largest firms in the nation with respect to number of employees were surveyed by mail questionnaire about the relative importance of various college graduate personal characteristics in college recruiting. Of 100 firms receiving an “open-ended” question, 27% returned them while 78% of the 100 receiving a “closed” question returned them.
