Abstract
The Solutions Attribute List (SAL-1) was used to score the 2440 responses given by 173 volunteer undergraduate male and female Ss on a task from the Solutions Test. The task was administered under neutral test-taking instructions and in a test format having three parts, preparation, production, and revision. A principal components analysis was performed on the matrix of item correlations (SAL-1 items), with unities in the diagonal. When the matrix of principal components was rotated according to the varimax procedure three factors were obtained: projects, acceptability, and specificity.
