The purpose of this investigation was to study the relationships between leveling-sharpening and (a) repression-sensitization and (b) shortand long-term memory. Two separate measures of repression-sensitization, the Byrne R-S Scale and the Rorschach Index of Repressive Style, were used. Repression-sensitization and leveling-sharpening were not related nor was the hypothesized relationship between leveling-sharpening and memory obtained.
