A 20-yr.-old practicing female homosexual was treated with a combination of behavioral techniques. The techniques employed were systematic desensitization and covert sensitization. After 30 days of treatment, the frequency of reported homosexual desires stabilized around one per day. A follow-up showed a return to homosexuality after a 4-mo. abstinence. The treatment procedures are discussed with implications for further work in this area.
