An objective test covering material from introductory psychology was administered, on a surprise basis, to 343 students registered in advanced psychology classes. Approximately half the students passed the test. Scores showed a very slight positive relationship with reported final grades in, and amount of time elapsing since the introductory course. Comments by students concerning their recollections of the introductory course shed some light on what they consider relevant.
