97 college students were administered a test based on 4 chapters of their text. The test consisted of 40 multiple-choice items and 20 paired-multiple-response items (pairs of items which contain 3 correct choices out of 6). The paired-multiple-response items were more reliable than multiple-choice items because the probability of guessing the correct responses on the former is higher than on the latter.
