When 32 female Ss chose a photo of a physique which they would desire as “lover,” Ss tended to choose a physique which either received a rank of 1 or 7 (most or least like father) on a scale of perceived likeness to “father.” It was concluded that the results support certain aspects of the construct, Oedipal complex.
