The personality traits of music therapists were measured by the factored 16 PF test. A contrast group of musician-performers was also tested. The objective pattern of sten scores was reported for each group. Music therapists were more sober and prudent, more conscientious, and tended to be more trusting than their performing counterparts, but the contrasts were not extreme. Differences between the profile patterns of each group and the general adult normative population were described and compared.
