875 Turkish university students were asked to name the 2 living and 2 dead persons for whom they had the greatest admiration. Although Turks headed the 2 lists, persons drawn from international life were predominant. The Turkish students rarely mentioned religious figures or individuals drawn from their immediate range of experience.
