Analysis of changes in responses of students on Dogmatism and World-mindedness scales over an interval of 18 mo. supports the hypotheses that the students have developed a new response-set. This is indicated by the increased frequency of disagreement rather than agreement with items on these scales, i.e., there is a tendency to become more “disagreeable.” This increased tendency to disagree, after a sojourn at the University, appears to occur regardless of the content or direction of the items of the attitude scales.
