To establish local normative data for 6-yr.-old southern Negro children from low socio-economic backgrounds on the Illinois Test of Psycholinguistic Abilities and to evaluate the effects of examiner differences, 2 Negro and 4 Caucasian examiners with little experience tested 171 Ss. The over-all language score and 5 subscales reflected significant examiner differences; thus the normative value of the scores is questionable.
