Abstract
From the evaluations of 158 fifth, sixth, and seventh grade children on the Pupil Observation Survey, six factors were extracted: I. Warm, Affable, Deferring; II. Fair, Considerate; III. Controlled, Orderly; IV. Knowledgeable, Open-minded; V. Stimulating, Surgent; VI. Self-assured, Poised, Egostrength. By means of deviations of achievement scores (CAT) from ability scores (CTMM), these students within each classroom were ranked and divided into 3 groups: underachievers, overachievers, and achievers. An analysis of the Pupil Observation Survey factor scores at the three levels of achievement revealed only Factor I differentiated among groups of achievers.
