A mathematical model for paired-associate learning is presented. It accounts for both the learning of correct alternatives and elimination of incorrect alternatives on an all-or-none basis. The model derives prediction equations for error curve, proportion of errors for unlearned associations, and number of occurrences of specific wrong alternatives.
