Abstract
Two educational psychology classes (Ns = 26, 23) took the Survey of Interpersonal Values under normal instructions and under faking instructions. Under the fake-good top management set, scores increased on Conformity and Leadership, and decreased on Support and Independence. The fake-bad top management set produced increase in Independence and decrease in Leadership. Results indicate that research designs using simulated guidance instructions versus simulated employment instructions underestimate the fakability of forced-choice inventories.
