Abstract
Max Leonard Fogel, Ph.D. (1934-1992), an outstanding scholar, researcher, editor, and clinician, died from cancer on March 15, 1992. He met his fate with uncommon courage. In this brief bibliographic sketch a colleague, co-researcher, and friend offers his perspective on Max L. Fogel as a person and as a professional. A man of extraordinary intellect, energy, and dedication, he accumulated a most impressive record of achievements. A principled and genuinely caring man, he was a source of strength and wisdom to his family and patients.
