Unless their level of performance on delayed-response problems is very high, monkeys show a decrement when the opaque screen of the WGTA is lowered. This did not occur when the objects were concealed for a comparable period by a small hand screen, suggesting the deficit was due to the signal that lowering the screen meant trial termination.
