Previous studies have indicated that leaders and non-leaders differ in perceptual modes and in particular on the field-dependence dimension. It was hypothesized in this study that student leaders are more field independent than student non-leaders on a college campus. The results were in the predicted direction, though not to an extent to give statistical support to the hypothesis.
