Abstract
December 10, 1969, President Nixon sent to Congress a proposal to nearly double the appropriation for the National Foundation on the Arts and Humanities for the next fiscal year. President Nixon called on those interested to write their senators and congressmen in support of the increased funding for the arts. The text of the President's message is printed below, followed by President Housewright's telegram in response.
