Abstract
In the summer of 1966, the Manhattanville Music Curriculum Program held the first of four summer workshops on the college's campus in Purchase, New York. The program is sponsored by the U.S. Office of Education in cooperation with Manhattanville and is directed by Ronald Thomas. Robert A.Choate, professor of music at Boston University, directed the first summer workshop, whose objective was to reexamine course content in the light of stimulating personal experience in music creativity. Now, as the program begins the final year, a participant recalls its first exciting days.
