Abstract
Three General Sessions at the MENC Northwest Division meeting held in Casper, Wyoming, in April 1963 were developed around the Conference theme "The Meaning and Teaching of Music." The first session on "The Meaning of Music," featured Angelo Giaudrone as principal speaker; the speech from the second session on "The Teaching of Music" is presented here. The third session speaker was Ole Sand, whose talk "Current Trends in Curriculum Planning: Their Implications for Music and the Other Arts" was published in the September-October issue of the Music Educators Journal.
