Abstract
The roster of MENC Student Members Chapters for the 1958-59 school year is presented in these pages. Under the name of each institution will be found the name of the chapter faculty sponsor. The chapter serial number follows the name of the institution, while the figures in parentheses indicate the number of student members enrolled during the 1958-59 school year. Student membership for the year as of May 15, totals 9044, representing 357 institutions of higher learning in the United States and Canada. On the basis of previous experience, approximately 1,600 graduates who take teaching positions for the 1959-60 school year will be transferred to active membership status … Institutions interested in the MENC Student Membership plan may secure additional information and necessary enrollment forms by writing the MENC Headquarters Office, 1201 Sixteenth St., N. W., Washington 6, D.C. Student Members should be enrolled for the 1959-60 school year not later than November 15, 1959, to be certain of receiving the complete volumes of the Music Educators Journal and the official State Publication.
