Abstract
THE AUTHOR, who is president-elect of the MENC Eastern Division (1955-57), is director of music education in the Springfield, Mass., Public Schools. The untimely death of Alexander Leslie, conductor of the Springfield Symphony Orchestra, occurred just after Mr. Berg completed this article. Dr. Leslie was director of the Symphony Orchestra for eleven years and also organized and directed a Youth Symphony composed of talented students of the Springfield area.
