Abstract
THIS article represents the substance of a report made to the Executive Committee and Board of Directors at the close of the 1949–50 school year. The author of the report served as organizing chairman and National secretary of MENC student membership and student activities from the inception of the plan as one of the major projects of the Music Education Advancement Program. No longer a “Project,” in the space of four years, student membership is a vital and virile segment of the professional organization of music educators. Mr. Madison continues to serve as advisor during the current period while final steps are being taken for the full integration of student membership with the over-all State-Division-National organization structure and operations.
