Judgment Values for Contemporary Music

Abstract

This Paper is presented as a timely and interesting follow-up for the recent contribution by Philip Gordon on “Rehearsing Contemporary Music.” Mr. Murphy, who is professor of music education at Teachers College, Columbia University, prepared “Judgment Values for Contemporary Music” for one of the contemporary music forums held at the 1950 MENC national convention in St. Louis.
