Much controversy exists surrounding the reliability of the science of blood residue analysis and taxa identification in archaeology. Validating simple presumptive blood tests before proceeding to taxa identification should be an immediate priority. This article serves to introduce luminol as an additional presumptive tool in blood residue studies.
