Approaches to training based on theory, proceduralization, and simulation are reviewed. The strengths of each approach are combined to produce a new method involving a mix of low, moderate, and high fidelity simulators. Applications of the mixed-fidelity approach to aircraft maintenance and marine engineering are discussed.
