Microcomputers are of great interest to business schools as a means of providing computer resources to beginning students. Questions of cost, unit and overall facility configuration, maintenance and staffing are of interest These characteristics are described for a particular laboratory at the University of Texas at Arlington. The programming workload on the facility is analyzed and problems described. The conclusion is that a microcomputer facility is a viable option for business schools, despite shortcomings.
