This research focused on what computing subjects ought to be taught to accountancy and other college students. Two hundred forty-one executives in the National Association of Accountants responded to a survey about their opinions of what spreadsheet and other software packages should be taught to accountancy students. The general conclusion reached from this research is that spreadsheets, data bases, and word processing should be required of all accountancy graduates. Considerable emphasis was given to the use of Lotus 1-2-3 as the spreadsheet to be used in these courses.
