Abstract
The various types of burial-places found in southern France are surveyed. The author gives a description of four different funerary biotopes: Tethneotopes, linked with the human remains proper, either in the course of putrefaction (tethneosepedenotopes), or in that withering (tethneoxerotopes), Sorotopes linked with coffins, Chomatotopes found in potter's field, and Kryptotopes found in burial vaults. These biotopes are presented in a vast dynamical system, which the author calls to mind by means of organigram.
