Abstract
The Marijuana Action Maze (MAM) is a computerized simulation game designed to aid drug decision-making skills development. Its intended target population is adolescents and its developmental goals include sensitization to alternatives, consequences, and educational and rehabilitative resources available for making certain marijuana related decisions. In this initial assessment of the MAM, the Delphi technique was used to explore the MAM's applicability to its intended audience and setting and to the health education discipline. To this end, the study assessed expert opinions of practicing school health educators, practicing community health educators, and educational software experts to determine the MAM's acceptability among potential purchasers. Panelists assessed the importance, feasibility, desirability, and achievement of the MAM's developmental goals, rated its technical quality, and suggested appropriate health education applications.
