Abstract
Raymond A. Moody in his book, Life After Life, reports on his interviews with people who have experienced temporary clinical death. He points to the presence of certain features that are shared in most cases. The author of this essay investigates canonical literature and other writings of religious movements and folklore for parallels in the descriptions of death experiences. His findings are that these phenonmena manifest themselves universally and that they appear to be part of the experience of the human race.
