Abstract
Some of the reasons for concern by educators and by the public with education and computerized education are outlined. Some problems of teaching and of learning are discussed, and the computer's role in surmounting these problems is considered. The need for individualized instruction is stressed, and some uses of the computer in individualized learning given. The need for data to maximize teaching/learning is emphasized, and examples given of data acquired and the use to which the data was put. Student attitude is touched on, and the potential of the computer as an educational tool hinted at.
