Abstract
A previous study has provided evidence that a unique glyph at CA-PLA-571 in the Sierra Nevada was probably a trail map. This article suggests two more wavy glyphs on this petroglyph panel as being different trail maps. The evidence that a tracing of each of these carvings can be superimposed on a map showing all petroglyph sites in the area, and that several dozens of the outcroppings with glyphs fall within 50 m of the presumed trails, supports the hypothesis that these glyphs represent prehistoric hunting trails. The presence of several “trail maps” on this one petroglyph panel suggests that the site was used in ceremonies relating to hunting game.
