Abstract
This article describes a computer-based study aid designed to assist students learning at a distance prepare for examinations. The package provides a variety of study aids that allowed students to pinpoint their learning problems with a specific course of study and possibly to overcome them. When we tried out the package, students rated it very highly. However, we noted no increase in test scores or pass rates. This was probably due to the self-selected nature of the learner population. Such a set of study aids could be refined and extended to become a central part of self-study and distance education.
