Abstract
This paper is a synthesis of the research which has been recently completed to ascertain the effects of the drug marijuana on human behavior. Since the isolation of the active component of marijuana (THC), studies have revealed various effects to the memory, specific physiological effects, and definite visual effects to individuals while under the influence of marijuana. Furthermore, it has been noted that the sociological aspects of the drug are of great importance to the study of this drug. It appears that these sociological aspects may stimulate an individual into the use of this drug. The state of euphoria is cited as one of the factors which stimulate the usage of marijuana. It appears that an individual cannot participate normally in expected societal roles while under the influence of marijuana.
