The school counselor must provide educational information on opportunities and requirements, occupational information on the world of work, and personal-social information on relationships, personal habits, etc This information can be more effectively produced by a computer-based system. This article reviews the three types of computer-based systems, lists the advantages for students and counselors, and notes the disadvantages.
