The Pendulum Swings Both Ways: A Response to “Ethics and the Hyperreality of the Archaeological Thought World”

Abstract

Without entering into an overly philosophical discussion of intellectual property, self-perpetuating righteousness, and ethical behavior, I prefer to respond to individual statements, the general tone of the presentation, and comparisons in light of recent political developments. The problem comes not from the issues that he raises, but how far he rides the pendulum. I certainly hope that no one is offended at plain language, because I checked my political correctness at the door.
