Abstract
A project of the Education Board of the Association for Computing Machinery, sponsored by the National Science Foundation, to review computer impact on society and computer literacy courses and materials is presented. The effort to gather and maintain a comprehensive bibliography in the area is reviewed and an analysis of the literature currently included is given. A set of objectives for courses is specified. Future plans are discussed including the organization of a workshop to facilitate the preparation of course syllabi and to refine and enhance the bibliography.
